This is my first blog and I'm delighted to start my post in the spirit of the holidays. The year is about to end and I find myself reminiscing about all that happened this year so let me start by recapping the year. I graduated from Western Carolina University Nursing school with my bachelors in Nursing in May. This marked the beginning of the many huge accomplishments to come in this life I call mine. It was a hard road, lots of tears were shed, sleepless nights spend and a whole lot learned. I never doubted myself but my limits were tested multiple times this year in Nursing school. Long story short, I did graduate and passed my boards a month after graduating. Now you can refer me as Patricia Mwangi, RN, BSN. <---Yes! my name looks good with those initials. I earned them, all five of them. Anyway, this is just the beginning. More initials will be added later.
I landed my first job as a licensed nurse in September where I worked for three months. It was a seasonal job with great pay and I enjoyed it. In November, I landed two other job opportunities, one at a doctors office and another at a home care agency. I took both of the jobs and I am currently working at both jobs. I am enjoying the challenges and benefits of being a nurse. I love every minute of it. My main goal is to land a job at a hospital then go back to school for my masters in Family Nurse Midwifery and a Doctorate degree is on my mind as well. My year overall has been amazing and I can truly say I am beyond blessed.
As we celebrate this Christmas season, It is very important to know the true meaning of the season. To me its not just about the gifts under the tree or the decorations around the house, it means a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus, to get closer with God, to Thank Him for our life and acknowledge His everlasting love for us by sending his only son to save us from our sins. Whatever Christmas means to you, be Thankful for who you are and happy holidays to all of you and your loved ones!
MERRY CHRISTMAS :)
